About Dr. Yesul Kim

Dr. Kim is a double board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with extensive training and expertise in Mohs surgery, hair transplantation, and the treatment of hair loss.

Dr. Kim received her Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and then went to medical school at Penn State College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the national medical honors society for the top graduating medical students. She then completed her internship in internal medicine at Mount Sinai West/Morningside in NYC before completing her dermatology residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed her Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship at Cooper University under the tutelage of Dr. Naomi Lawrence, one of the leaders in the field of Mohs surgery. Dr. Kim has extensively trained under Dr. Ivan Cohen, one of the leaders in hair restoration surgery, including follicular unit transplantation (linear strip method) and follicular unit extraction. Dr. Kim is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and continues to further her training in hair restoration surgery by visiting other hair restoration experts and attending national conferences and workshops in hair transplantation. She is also an expert in the medical treatment of scarring and non-scarring hair loss in men and women including prescription medications, platelet rich plasma treatments, photomodulation therapy and nutraceuticals.

Dr. Kim has published original research in leading dermatology journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Journal and has presented at national and regional conferences. She is also a co-host of “Beyond the Digest,” which is a Dermatologic Surgery podcast that features skin oncology and dermatologic surgery literature.
